Pantheon Percussion

Beautiful bespoke custom drums, world-class cymbals.

  • In collaboration with Audio Technica and James Lye, we conducted a drum tuning and studio recording workshop at Lasalle College of the Arts on the 24th of October.

On 7th November I will be conducting another such workshop for SMU students, this time, only drum tuning. Not long after I will be conducting a similar workshop for ITE Central students.

On the 21st of November, I am conducting a snare tuning workshop for anyone who wants to sign up. The location will depend on the number of people who sign up. It is free. Just drop me a message at 97254846 and we can talk from there.

We will have more courses in november and december, all free.

Without trying to be funny, stay tuned.

Pantheon Percussion: Ocean Blue Fade “Urban” kit complete

  • May 19, 2020
  • by Golf Lima Papa
  • · 1. Announcements · 2. Kits · 3. Snares · 7. Uncategorized · 8. Photos

4-piece 10/12/13/20 “Urban” pancake kit in “Ocean Blue Fade” finish.

The ‘Urban’ configuration is an inexpensive, multi-function pancake drum kit with dual usable surfaces. One side is a regular drum-set skin, while the other side is a mesh head. It is dry, low-volume, and won’t wake the neighbours.

The “Ocean Blue Fade” finish is a four-part fade of white, blue, purple, and black. Some have commented that they look like water-colour paintings.

Intrigued? Keep practicing, stay safe, and #playpantheon everybody.

  • · 2. Kits · 3. Snares · 7. Uncategorized · 8. Photos

Our first full pancake kit, in “stone washed jeans” finish. This 12/13/16/20 pancake kit was made from Birch for a full and punchy tone.

Those of you who have been following our recent live streams will know how difficult it is to do this finish. This may not be an expensive kit, but the finishes are not cheap.

Intrigued? Keep practicing, stay safe, and #playpantheon everybody.

Patheon Percussion: Some TLC for our snares at Tonehouse Studios

  • September 25, 2019
  • by Golf Lima Papa
  • · 1. Announcements · 3. Snares · 7. Uncategorized · 8. Photos

I was at Tonehouse Studios today to give the snares a little TLC: they had been heavily used in the last few weeks since Tonehouse opened its doors. Many a drummer has had fun on them and many a hard-hitting gig held at the venue.

I noted that the drummers tended to crank the original heads (Evans HD Dry) really tight. I think they were trying to get more attack out of the snares than the HD Dry really allowed. The HD Dry is a really thick and phat sounding head which I had put on for studio tracking purposes.

As an experiment, I went with Aquarian’s Hi Energy head on the Aluminium snare and the New Orleans Special on the Myrtle stave snare. Now the snares sound a lot more open and have much more of the attack and high frequencies audible. Those were easily tamed with a little dampening for a fatter tone when required, making this a far more versatile set up.

We listen. We do this because we want our drummers to have the best experience and the best sound possible in our little venue. We do this because we are Tonehouse Studios. Make a booking today and #playpantheon everybody!

Pantheon Percussion: 7 Years On Social Media, 9+ In Reality

Back when we first started our social media in 2012.

We had already been operating for two years by then, going door to door with two snare drums in tow, trying to convince people of this crazy idea of custom drums, made in Singapore.

Pantheon Percussion: “Jupiter” Aluminium Snare Complete

  • June 22, 2019
  • by Golf Lima Papa
  • · 1. Announcements · 3. Snares · 7. Uncategorized · 8. Photos

Custom 13×7 aluminium snare in a beautiful “Jupiter” patina finish for an international customer. The finish was done by our good friend @predator_percussion and this is one of our many international collaborations. We source the best from around the world and we share and respect each other’s work often.

To do this snare justice we put on a combination of brass and gold hardware, with a royal purple snare strap for the Canopus Vintage Dry snare wires. It’s a beautiful snare and sounds very articulate, punchy and meaty.

Want the snare of your dreams? Let’s have a chat.

Pantheon Percussion: Drum Making Lessons Now Avaliable

  • · 1. Announcements · 2. Kits · 3. Snares · 7. Uncategorized · 8. Photos

DRUM MAKING SECRETS REVEALED. Learn the craft from the ones who started it all in Singapore: Pantheon Percussion.

I am going to take a small number of students for one-to-one lessons in drum making for a token fee. Learn to craft ANY drum, learn to repair and maintain drums and cymbals, find a new way to express yourself, and even start your own business.

Drum making is an art; a craft that not many people have access to. Now it is readily available.

In my lessons, I will reveal all my contacts, processes, techniques, and give full access to my tools and workshop. You will not need any tools yourself and you won’t need to set up a workshop for yourself. You just need to be willing to learn and to persevere till the end.

Learn to create something unique for yourself: I will help you.

Pantheon Percussion: Bubinga Snare For Noivil Studios Complete

  • June 21, 2019
  • by Golf Lima Papa
  • · 1. Announcements · 3. Snares · 7. Uncategorized · 8. Photos

Custom 12-ply 14×7 Bubinga snare with black nickel hardware and brass accents. The yellow gold strap was for extra personality.

Dale and Tabitha of Noivil Studios had been telling me of their interest in trying a Bubinga snare for certain recordings. They wanted projection and power, yet depth and tone. We agreed that we should experiment, and come up with a killer aesthetic while we were at it.

This snare is looking and sounding absolutely delicious. Come try it out.
