Pantheon Percussion: Welcoming Alvyn Cheong to the family!
On this last day of 2014, we would like to welcome Alvyn Cheong to the Pantheon Percussion family!
Alvyn has been one of our strongest supporters these two years and is a regular in the local live music scene. Check out what he has to say about himself:
“I bang on the drums and scream into the microphone for “PennyLane : The Band” every Wednesday at Wala Wala Bar & Café, and I hit a wooden box really hard while screaming into the microphone every Saturday at Harry’s Bar.
I started playing drums 12 years ago because the only available arcade machine was Percussion Freaks Version 3. I was attracted to the loud sounds, flashing lights, and the fact that I only had to pay $2 each time I wanted to embarrass myself and fail songs in front of my ah beng bretheren. It’s been a long journey, and I’d like to think that I’ve come a long way since those days.
Behind the drumset, I use Pantheon Percussion 5A drumsticks as well as two Pantheon Percussion snares – a 14×6.5 Maple Solid Shell and a 12×6.5 10ply Maple snare.
When I’m not behind the drumset being a nuisance, I work my charm on my corporate clients with LinkedIn, where I work as the Team Lead for the Sales Development Team based here in Singapore. I am a LinkedIn Evangelist, and I truly believe that social media will change the world and how we approach opportunities.
My aim is to see a larger representation of musicians on LinkedIn, and to see musicians utilize LinkedIn as a tool for networking, as well as a tool for professional branding.”
