“Myself with OSSUARY, opening band for VADER on 14th July 2014 @ The Substation.
Thanks to Pantheon Percussion 5B drumsticks & 14 x 6.5 acrylic snare.”
This gorgeous mappa burl snare has been with us since July 2012, and it is actually the very first plywood snare that we have ever made. We chose a 10-ply maple shell for a balance of power and resonance, and we chose the most exotic veneer we could muster at the time: Mappa Burl. Combined with very exclusive 2.3mm Chrome-over-brass (COB) hoops and Canopus vintage dry wires, we created a very very versatile snare. So versatile, in fact, that Gary Gideon uses it in the recording studio, where the COB hoops really produce magically melodious tones. An impressive first try if you ask us…:)
